Terms of Use

1. The service

Maya helps households coordinate reminders, lists, expenses, schedules, and follow-ups through WhatsApp direct messages. Maya uses artificial intelligence; responses may be incomplete or incorrect. You are responsible for verifying important information (medical, legal, financial) with qualified professionals.

Maya is an R&D product. Features, limits, and availability may change without notice.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old and able to form a binding contract in your jurisdiction. You must have a valid WhatsApp account and, where applicable, permission from your household members to share information with Maya.

3. Households and accounts

• Each household is created with a 6-character invite code. Anyone with the code may join until the admin revokes access.
• Shared household data (reminders, lists, expenses, etc.) is visible to all members.
• You are responsible for activity under your WhatsApp number and for keeping invite codes confidential if you do not want others to join.
• We may suspend or remove accounts that violate these Terms or pose a security risk.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use Maya for illegal activity, harassment, spam, or impersonation.
• Attempt to probe, scrape, or reverse-engineer our systems without written permission.
• Send malware, excessive automated traffic, or content that infringes others’ rights.
• Use Maya to send unsolicited marketing messages to third parties via relay or contact features.
• Circumvent usage limits, payment requirements, or security controls.

5. AI limitations

Maya is powered by third-party AI models. We do not guarantee accuracy, timeliness, or fitness for a particular purpose. Maya may refuse requests that would expose another household’s data or that we deem unsafe. Scheduled reminders and automated actions depend on correct input from you; missed reminders are not grounds for liability beyond applicable law.

6. Subscriptions and billing

Current paid plans (subject to change):

• Free — limited AI messages and members per month.
• Family — ₹399/month (INR), higher limits, voice, daily summary.
• Family+ — ₹799/month (INR), highest limits.

Payments are processed by Razorpay. By subscribing, you also agree to Razorpay’s terms. Subscriptions renew monthly until cancelled. Refunds are handled at our discretion except where required by law. Grandfathered or promotional access may be offered at our sole discretion.

7. WhatsApp and third parties

Maya is not affiliated with WhatsApp or Meta. Your use of WhatsApp is subject to Meta’s terms and policies. Message delivery depends on Twilio and WhatsApp infrastructure; outages outside our control are not our responsibility.

8. Intellectual property

We own Maya’s name, branding, software, and documentation. You retain ownership of content you submit. You grant us a license to use that content to operate and improve the service, as described in our Privacy Policy.

9. Disclaimers

MAYA IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE SERVICE.

10. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, LEAN LABS PVT. LTD. AND ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF MAYA.

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, OR (B) ₹5,000 INR.

11. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims arising out of your misuse of Maya, violation of these Terms, or infringement of third-party rights, except where caused by our gross negligence or willful misconduct.

12. Termination

You may stop using Maya at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these Terms, non-payment, or operational reasons. Sections that by nature should survive (disclaimers, liability limits, indemnity, governing law) will survive termination.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Courts in Bengaluru, Karnataka shall have exclusive jurisdiction, subject to mandatory consumer protections in your home country where applicable.

14. Changes

We may modify these Terms by posting an updated version on this page. Material changes will be reflected in the “Last updated” date. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
